The team’s Principals and Management Staff were responsible for preconstruction and construction for multi-phased master plan capital projects totaling over 499,000 sq. ft. at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital (formerly Miami Children’s Hospital). The projects were completed with multiple architectural firms, including HKS Architects, Gresham Smith, and Perkins + Will.
The project included complicated interior renovation and repurposing projects as well as major expansions and a new CEP/Parking Garage. The major projects included:
New MRI 15,000 sq. ft. facility.
Renovation of 1⁄2 of the existing ED and addition of 8,000 sq. ft., in conjunction with the start of a 2-year facility encapsulation project. Temporary ED entrance created. Encapsulated entire building with Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete Panels (GFRC)
New 60-foot high helipad over Emergency Department walk-in entrance. Project included new elevator tower and sky-bridge.
New 70,000 sq. ft. Ambulatory Care Center next to the existing ED on the site of
Completed ED Renovations (imaging/radiology) and connected ED new Ambulatory Care Center.
